Westport-Weston Health District Postpones Thursday COVID-19 Vaccines until Monday due to Snow
Press ReleaseCurrent weather reports predict a heavy snow fall with possible accumulations of up to 8 inches. In the interest of public and patient safety when traveling to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine, the WWHD has moved the 2/18/21 appointments to Monday, 2/22/21. Please keep your same appointment time on 2/22/21, only the clinic date has changed. The location for Monday’s clinic also remains the same – Westport Senior Center (21 Imperial Ave, Westport, CT 06880).

Westport Library Opening at Noon 02/08/21
The Westport Library will open at noon on Monday, December 8th due to the inclement weather.
Except for February 8th, the Library building will be open Monday through Friday between 10:00 am and 6:00 pm and on Saturday between 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Library will remain closed on Sunday. Appointments will no longer be required except to visit the Children’s Library, Makerspace, Verso Studios, and the Store.
Westport Public Schools: 2 Hour Delayed Opening 02/08/21
Press ReleaseWe hope you are all safe on this snowy Sunday. Given the amount of snow that fell today and the need to make our streets and parking lots clear for a safe arrival tomorrow, the Westport Public Schools will operate on a 2 hour delayed opening for Monday, February 8, 2021. All schools will open 2 hours later than normal and all buses will be running 2 hours later than normal. Stepping Stones Preschool will operate in a fully remote teaching model on Monday, February 8, 2021, but will begin school after a 2 hour delay.

Saugatuck Rowing Club Closed 02/01/21 Due to Snow
The Saugatuck Rowing & Fitness Club announced its closure tomorrow due to the incoming snow storm.
Westport Public Schools Fully Closed Tomorrow, 02/01/21, due to Snow
Good evening Westport Families and Staff,
Due to the pending winter storm, Cooper, which is forecast to have a significant impact on Westport over the next couple of days, the Westport Public Schools will be closed on Monday, February 1, 2021. This will serve as the District’s second full snow day in which the students and staff will make up the day at the end of the school year.
The storm is projected to impact Tuesday, February 2, 2021 as well. We will monitor conditions throughout the day tomorrow and provide updates as appropriate. Should we have to close schools again on Tuesday, this day will turn into a remote learning day for all students and staff. Again, any decisions about Tuesday will be made once we can better assess the storm's impact.
The Board of Education is scheduled to meet tomorrow evening. As of the time I am writing to you this evening, the meeting is still scheduled to take place at 7:00 p.m. We have been working on backup plans throughout the day today, which may include broadcasting tomorrow night’s meeting via the Town’s website and channel 79. An update, including the manner in which the public can access tomorrow night’s meeting, will be sent out tomorrow afternoon.
Please stay safe in the days ahead. The Town has partially opened its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in response to the storm. We will support the EOC by passing along any relevant storm information through the District’s School Messenger service, but please also be on the lookout for any direct communication from the Town as well.
